I got to see Joey twice this season, and he was one of my favorite receivers to watch. He’s a consistent deep threat who can run under anything you throw deep down the field. I watched him time after time zig zag his way through the secondary and burn DBs on his way to another deep touchdown catch. He has good size, long limbs and an understanding of how to always keep leverage against defenders. He also was willing and able to block to spring other ball carriers for big runs! Joey is a selfless kid who has been nothing but great every time I chatted with him. He has major upside for the next level and I am excited to see what he does!

I would not be shocked if Joey has a massive day for Notre Dame prep against Frankenmuth. Joey has gone for almost 1,000 yards receiving and leads the team in touchdowns with 20 total TDs. Joey has the ability to create separation and go for big explosive plays at any time! If Joey and his QB

- 2 way star who was everywhere for NDP, including special teams
- Good sized receiver with good routes and strong hands
- Defensively as good in the pass as he was in the run all night
- Returned a kick for a TD as well

Joey has been an amazingly consistent player for ND Prep, and he’s an elite Division 3 prospect in my eyes. Just last week, Joey racked up 177 receiving yards and a near pick-6. When I watched him against GR Catholic Central, several plays were made on both sides of the ball.
At receiver, Joey is a pure deep threat and a 1-on-1 nightmare. His top speed alone is too much for most opponents to handle. Several plays from his highlight tape show this. In addition, I like Joey’s RAC ability and vision in the open field. He can improve athletically, and I’m confident he will in college.
Defensively, Joey is a ball hawk. Again, not elite athleticism, but simple, consistent, great fundamentals. Right place, right time, right on point with the defensive structure. When a ball is thrown near him, he always goes for the pick and Joey is always a threat to take it the distance.
Joey is a phenomenal high school football player and a key player for a prime state-championship contender. I hope to watch him play at Ford Field!
