Drew was another big early-mid season defensive standout. I really like how he was utilized against GR Catholic Central, and I loved his effort throughout.
Drew was sent on several blitzes, and he became a free rusher numerous times. Having free reign to the QB, Drew came away with some sacks, QB hits, and some important QB pressures. Because of Drew’s pressure, the GRCC passing game never left ground floor. I’ve seen some other tape here and there, and it seems that Drew’s had an overall great season.
I honestly expect to see Drew and ND Prep play at Ford Field in a couple of weeks!

Drew’s mission was simple. Pressure the QB.
Play after play, ND Prep drew up a blitz to pressure the inexperienced Freshman QB. On many occasions, Drew was the first to get pressure and force an inaccurate or ill-advised throw. Yes, Drew is a bit undersized, especially playing on-ball. Though he is explosive, plays very hard, and is an all-around excellent football player at the high school level. In addition to his several QB pressures, Drew scored a TD on a blocked punt. I now see why he was 2023 all-state and why he holds offers from Hope and Lawrene Tech. I think either of those programs would be a phenomenal fit.

Heimbuch is another guy that I know is very valuable to this team. He only has two plays posted from this season, but those are two impressive touchdown runs. On offense, Drew seems like a very physical between-the-tackles runner. As a defender, he seems like an in-the-box enforcer. Drew will have to give it everything he has to bring down GRCC, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Drew fares.

What a 2023 season it was for Drew. Utilized as an EDGE rusher, Drew has an incredibly explosive getoff and is a menace in the backfield. At the high school level, Drew is a game-breaker. The speed and overall tenacity that Drew plays with is special. In addition, Drew is able to quickly shed blocks and deliver insanely hard hits. Drew plays an incredibly important role, and he executes it at an all-state level. The one giant aspect that limits his ranking and recruitment is his size. The unfortunate fact of the matter is that 6’0″ won’t get you recruited as an EDGE rusher. That said, Drew is legitimately one of the most dominant players in Michigan, but the data says that his collegiate ceiling is low at the OLB/EDGE position.

Drew is a highly regarded kid in the Notre Dame Prep program, and it’s easy to see why. He gets it done both in the classroom and on the field as he’s a 4.0+ kid who was also an All- State athlete. On film, he displays a quick get off, and does a great job of pursuing the ball, and finishing the play. He’s a sure tackler, and his aggression is off the charts. Next year he’ll likely be stepping into a running back role offensively as well, and I think he could end up being a threat there as well. Do your homework on this kid as he is ready to boom!
