About Joe
Expert Analysis

Smith really mad a splash this season. He’s such a tough athlete to stop. Whether it’s between the tackles, in space on the outside or in the passing game, Smith can be a huge weapon. He runs angry and can break tackles, but he also has the awareness and vision to patiently wait until the play develops before exposing the crease in the defense. He can change the game on any given play and can be a true home run hitter. You can never have too many weapons, and Smith is undoubtedly one of the best playmakers in the Lansing area, and the state as a whole.

Honestly, I should have ranked Joe. He’s a bruiser of a running back with some fun highlights.
That said, I think he’s a D3 or NAIA prospect. Without a doubt, Joe’s biggest strengths are his vision and contact balance. He’s a patient runner, rarely dances around, and is not afraid to lower a shoulder. Though, his biggest issue is his speed and all-around explosiveness. If you want to be a D2 or D1 running back, you need to be extremely explosive. Even if you want to go D3, you need to show some flashes in this category.
Joe is a very, very good high school running back. Can’t wait to see what he’s able to do next season!
