A year ago, I saw JJ at the GETMAULED O-Line camp in Muskegon. There, I viewed JJ as a raw prospect with elite measurables. I predicted Division 1 offers just based on his size and then-current abilities, and this offseason, the offers came. JJ is currently a phenomenal MAC prospect, but he’s still an incredibly raw prospect in my point of view. Like most other tall, lengthy athletes, JJ struggles with lateral movement and remaining balanced. He also struggles with his pass block footwork, run block leverage, and more. If this is the year JJ puts it all together, B1G 10 schools will come calling. That being said, although JJ has already earned D1 offers, he could breakout and earn those illustrious B1G 10 offers.

I had several opportunities to see JJ last offseason, and he generally impressed me. The size and arm length are perfect for an offensive lineman, and his skill just needs to be a few steps higher before he gets his offers. Last summer, I noted that he needed to work on fundamental consistency, aggressiveness, and holding his blocks. That said, he’s a raw prospect, but I trust the staff at Coopersville is doing a good job at developing JJ.rnWith his size, JJ could be a Division 1 prospect if his skill takes a jump.

JJ is in a wonderful situation at Coopersville. Having a respected and smart Head Coach in Ed Kaman alongside Northwestern OL Commit Gabe VanSickle Gabe VanSickle 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Coopersville | 2024 State MI to look up to, JJ is bound to have an awesome year. I was lucky enough to watch JJ at the GETMAULED OL camp in Muskegon. He immediately jumps out, as he’s a tall 6’5″ with long arms. He’s still learning the position, but was taking coaching extremely well. I’m confident that if JJ has a successful season, then he’ll earn D1 offers.
