. Boyd caught my attention during positional drills as he showed the ability to make quick cuts and was very fluid when changing direction. He also impressed during 1v1 passing drills, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation from opposing linebackers. Jett should be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop over the next three seasons.

was a player who stood out to me when breaking down freshman year film. He saw some varsity carries as a freshman and was impressive when on the field. Boyd has the speed to get up the field in a hurry then break away from the defense on long runs. Once he hits the open field, he has also shown the elusiveness to make defenders miss with ease. Jett will be a player to continue to watch as his role in the Somerset offense continues to grow.

is a player who caught my attention as a middle schooler and got some variety action as a freshman. He showed some promised as a ball carrier, showing the speed to burst through the running lane and run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Boyd has also shown the elusiveness to make defenders miss with ease. He finished this past season with six carries for 37 yards and a touchdown in 14 varsity games while also catching four passes for 30 yards. Jett will be a player to keep an eye on as his role in the Somerset offense continues to grow over the next few years.

All-Purpose back Boyd outshined when it mattered most earning Co-MVP in this star studded game. He went 21 yards on 5 carries. However, a 10 yard scamper was called back due to holding on his second carry. Jett most impressively, hauled in two short receptions to get the momentum going on his team. One of which was a highlighted touchdown run after catch which showed off his open field moves and power in his legs by breaking multiple tackles. I would argue his screen play cemented his MVP whispers by not being denied a 10 yard touchdown. For four quarters Mr. Boyd was locked in and played with a chip on his shoulder. He is elusive, has a mean throw/stiff arm, and slippery on the outskirts. I will definitely be keeping watch as he transitions into power house Meece.

Any time Kentucky needed a spark in its victory over Tennessee, specifically from the second quarter one, Boyd was there to answer the call. Alongside Wide Receiver

–who went off in his own right–Boyd captured the Co-Offensive MVP award. The duo capturing the Co-Offensive MVP award, was a first in the game’s 15-year history. Boyd had a number of big runs, combing speed and power–personifying what his 5-foot-5, 150-pound frame brings to the table.

Mr. Boyd has a lot of unfinished business this year, and I can only assume it’s personal. Thankfully he is back in uniform and better than ever from last year’s scare suffering an injury that cut his experience short. The attitude and determination oozes out of his pores when he steps in between the white lines to compete. I like this stout RB with the grit to focus his eyes downfield for big gains. He has one of the biggest runs last year in the game and with the luxury of running behind Conner Blevins, I don’t see anything changing. This kid is tough and with bring everything he has for four quarters. Was a regional POY nominee in 2022.
