Egli led the team in tackles with 64.5 (52 solo) to go with 8 TFLs and an interception last season. Egli is so quick off the line, and when he shoots into the backfield, his blockers barely have time to get in front of him to make a block, allowing him to slip through and get to the RB behind the line. Playing well against both the run and the pass, Egli does a very good job reading how each play develops and getting to the spot to make the stop, while also displaying very good tackling form. Egli will be another highly effective defender on the second level to watch for Fort Dodge with the added bonus of being able to line up in multiple positions for the defense.

The Dodgers reached the Class 4A playoffs last season with Egli standing out as one of the their defensive leaders. He led the team in overall tackles (64.5) and solo stops (52), and ranked second in tackles for loss (8.0). For good measure, Egli returned two kicks for 116 yards and a touchdown.
