On top of excellent size and speed off the snap, Officer does a great job of reading the offense like a book and quickly blasting into the pocket to make the stop. Another facet to Officer’s playstyle that stands out is his ability to shut down receivers off the short pass, proving he can quickly get into position to make the crucial stop. Officer will definitely be an elite prospect to keep an eye on this upcoming fall.

Jess Officer Jess Officer 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Oldham County | 2028 State KY caught my attention with a strong sophomore season. He lines up at middle linebacker where he proved to be very effective against the run. Officer does a great job of reading his keys then flowing to the ball carrier quickly. He is a very reliable tackler in the open field once he gets to the ball carrier, finishing his sophomore year with a team-high 100 tackles and 10 tackles for loss in 10 games. Officer also came away with one interception this past season. Jess has received a good amount of college interest and I wouldn’t be surprised to start seeing some offers flow in for him soon.

Officer lined up at inside linebacker where he was dominant against the run. He does a great job of reading his keys then coming downhill to get to the ball carrier with a sense of urgency. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he does a great job of running his feet through contact and finishes his tackles with a ton of physicality. Officer finished the season with a team-leading 100 tackles along with one tackle for loss in 10 games. He also recorded one sack and an interception this season. Jess doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player who college coaches should have on their radar going into his junior year.
