Battles is a strong safety project and quick to get downhill as a run defender. He has great closing speed, flows to the ball extremely well, and makes great open-field tackles. He can come down and play in the box, and knock back ballcarriers behind the LOS as a tackler. At 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, he has a great frame. Battles recorded 81 total tackles, 45 solo tackles and one sack last season.
