Jason is committed to Akron where I see him becoming a key piece of their defense once he gets there.

Once he gets to the ball, Hocker is a very reliable tackler both in the open field and between the tackles. He also does a great job of using his speed to burst into the backfield to make tackles for loss before opposing offensive linemen have a chance to block him. Hocker is also reliable in pass coverage, showing the ability to drop into coverage and look up receivers. Jason currently holds offers from Tennessee Tech, Akron, Southeast Missouri State, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way going into his senior year as he is a true Division I caliber talent at linebacker.

Hocker lines up as a true inside linebacker and does a great job of reading his keys. Once he reads his keys and finds the ball, he comes downhill in a hurry and meets the ball carrier in the hole. He is also a very reliable tackler, whether it is in the gap or in the open field. Hocker also showed great lateral agility with the ability to move sideline to sideline to get to the ball. I also was impressed with Hocker’s ability in coverage as he was very fluid in his drops and showed the ability to keep his head on a swivel and read route combinations. Jason currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Southeast Missouri State, Akron, and Tennessee Tech, and I expect many more to come as I believe he is true Division I talent at linebacker.
