About Ja’Sean
Expert Analysis
Patton Fitzpatrick | Prep Redzone Scout
Mays is a 6’3, 210 lbs linebacker from St. Laurence who can play both on the line of scrimmage and in the slot. The Class of 2025 playmaker possesses the ability to get off of blocks from tight ends and offensive tackles, using his hands and strong lower half to toss blockers off of him. He plays quick off the edge, surfing with smooth athleticism and chopping down ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage when unblocked. In the pass game, Mays drops with urgency to find his threat in the curl and eliminate underneath throws. He is physical in his re-routes and has the length to knock down level 2 passes thrown into his area. Keep an eye on Mays as he is poised for a dominant senior campaign.

Ja’Sean Mays Ja’Sean Mays 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB St Laurence | 2025 State IL is another really impressive hybrid-type athlete to look out for as he continues to develop after a strong sophomore-year campaign. The 6’0 St. Laurence’s product moves really well through traffic and sheds downfield blocks easily. Mays is very fluid in his motion and has been shown to get downhill and change direction easily as he closes the gap to the ball carrier. Ja’Sean is an active tackler who never seems to stop moving his feet through contact when he is bringing the ball carrier down. With a motor like Ja’Seans, he shows no stopping on the football field and plays with a level of determination to helps him track down the ball and finish plays. Overall, Mays is a very impressive young athlete who is going to continue to shine as he enters his junior and senior year of competition.

Mr. Mays took snaps throughout this game at linebacker. When he was in the game he flowed to the ball to secure tackles on the perimeter and filled holes in run support. He’s a young up-and-coming player with a ton of upside. Keep a close eye on how he performs for the rest of this fall season. Twitter
