A Big School CB representing the Blaine Bengals, 2027 James Gibson James Gibson 5'9" | 150 lbs | DB Blaine | 2027 State MN is one of the better long jumpers in the state of Minnesota, and he’s PRed with a 22’6.5″ long jump to punch his ticket to state, not to mention a 24.46 200M and 11.89 100M this spring. An All-District CB from the 6A ranks, Gibson posted 30 tackles, 2 TFLs, 7 PBUs, 1 INT, and 1 FF as a junior, and he’s fresh off his first college football offer, which came out of the WIAC and UW-Eau Claire on a junior day a couple of days ago.

Gibson is quick out of his breaks with no wasted movement or steps, melts WRs into the sideline and uses it as a friend while in man coverage, and demonstrates noticeable ball skills, showing some bounce and vertical ability when defending 50/50 balls. He’s also a physical run defender on the perimeter with impressive closing speed as a tackler. Look out for Blainea and in 2026

An underrated 2027 WR/DB who teammates think can play a large role in the upcoming season, Gibson put together some impressive film from his sophomore campaign on the 10th-grade and JV squad. The first thing that jumps out to you when you delve into his tape is his crazy speed and athleticism. His potential as a return man is exceptional. With top-notch vision as a ball carrier, as well as previously stated speed and agility, Gibson has the potential to break every return he gets loose. Aside from his devastating special teams ability, Gibson is also a tough coverage corner with a nose for the ball. Big things could be coming from this junior athlete.
