Church has above average speed for his size with a 4.6 40-yard dash to close the gap on ball carriers in a hurry. He instigates contact with ferocity to knock ball carriers back while maintaining good form to wrap and finish the tackle off. Does a good job reading plays as they happen to position himself in space to attack gaps and plug holes. Is most effective against the running game. Shows above average upper body strength to shed contact from bigger offensive linemen. Does a good job fighting against blocks towards the play to aid in stopping the run. Shows aggressive moves when blitzing on pass plays and commits at full speed to rush a quarterback’s progression. Church is a student of the game and always looking to improve through camps and in the weight room. Making gains this offseason to build up his strength, Church has the drive to be an impact player and the tools to do so.
