Yet another Burnsville Blaze young up-and-comer to know, DL Jamari Sargent Jamari Sargent 5'11" | 252 lbs | DL/OL Burnsville | 2028 State MN showed up and showed out at the recent PRZMN Spring Showcase. A Session 1, Second Team All-Camp Performer at the defensive line, Sargent displayed strength, a great base, the ability to unlock his hips, and a far deeper bag of tools that we were expecting, combining into what was a highly-productive 1v1 session of competition. A lot of Sargent’s success was due to his varsity experience in 2025, where the 5A DL and LG demonstrated heavy, active, effective hands, crushing strength on both sides of the ball, physicality, and a nonstop motor. As an LG, Sargent can really take the fight to the OL and can absorb and redistribute momentum at the contact point and is more than able to finish and pancake larger DL onto their backs in both run and pass schemes and settings. He displays great balance and foot speed in pass protection, also laterally agile, and is lockdown in pass pro once he sets his base. Can’t wait to see how this kid continues to develop.

Burnsville has one of the more interesting groups of underclassmen in the Metro coming up through their ranks, and PRZMN added yet another fun Blaze name-to-know thanks to his performance at the PRZMN Spring Showcase. DL Jamari Sargent Jamari Sargent 5'11" | 252 lbs | DL/OL Burnsville | 2028 State MN was a favorite of both the coaches in attendance and the various PRZMN scouts, and his get-off, lateral agility, active hands, and ability to hand-fight and disengage from OGs and OTs post-initial contact made him a threat at multiple points throughout a rush. Loose hips, good motor, and good cardio as well, he didn’t seem to get tired, and was working against a legitimately-talented OL group in Plymouth to boot. Don’t be surprised if Burnsville makes a big turnaround in the next year or two, especially with Sargent in the trenches.

Jamari Sargent Jamari Sargent 5'11" | 252 lbs | DL/OL Burnsville | 2028 State MN may be a smaller and stouter athlete on the trenches, but he impressed me quite often on Saturday with just how relentless and effective he was in the interior. Sargent gets off the snap quickly, showing strong pursuit and shifty double-moves to break into the pocket, and he was doing this while taking on some huge blockers in the trenches on Saturday, showcasing how his skillset translates well against a varied level of competition that included some of the best of the best in the state. Sargent will be an intriguing name to watch out for as he looks to break out on the trenches for the Blaze in 2026.

Sargent was another sophomore who saw a lot of varsity time for the Blaze next season, playing an effective role on both the defensive and offensive line. He’s a powerful athlete, capable of displacing opponents on both sides of the LOS. As a guard, Sargent plays low with a stout base, and his hand-fighting is solid for a younger prospect. He can absorb bull rushes with the best of them and does a great job playing physical in pass-pro. He’s shown flashes of greatness when run blocking, too, and once he gets underneath a defender’s pads, he can put them on skates. Sargent should be an athlete to watch this offseason.
