Dantzler heads into the season as one of the more intriguing DBs still available on the board. Not only is he good on the back end with good length, but he brings some kick-returning ability with him. He’s a dynamic athlete who makes a lot of things look easy, which is why he’s picked up so much traction. Central starts their season at home against a really good Dupont Manual team with an offense that can light up the scoreboard, so he has an opportunity to make a mark right away. With offers from Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Boston College, and more, the eyes will be on him to see how week 1 unfolds.

Dantzler is a versatile player with good length and a frame that gives him a lot of upside. He can impact the game in multiple ways, including on special teams where he housed a 90-yard kick return last season. Defensively, I like how patient he is in the backend. He lets plays develop, trusts what he sees, and reacts instead of guessing. His footwork is clean, he backpedals well, and he stays under control throughout the rep. He put together a big junior year with 56 tackles, 6 PBUs, and 2 forced fumbles. I like where he’s at right now and wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes a reliable piece for a defense on Saturdays.
