Jahid Salaam, a 5’11”, 270-pound defensive tackle from West Orange, is a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. With a stout and compact frame, Salaam excels at both zero tech and three positions. His quick get-off at the snap allows him to disrupt plays, jump the snap count, and penetrate the backfield for tackles for loss. Despite his height, Salaam leverages his natural stature to consistently get under offensive linemen’s pads and hold up at the point of attack, making him effective against the run. Salaam’s pursuit stands out as he uses his athleticism to chase down plays and make tackles from sideline to sideline. Despite not having any offers yet, his performance on the field suggests that he will garner attention from college programs as he continues to showcase his ability to dominate against the run and make explosive plays.

Serving as a nose guard for the Mountaineers is Jahid Salaam Jahid Salaam 5'10" | 260 lbs | DL West Orange | 2025 State NJ who, last year, was credited with 6 tackles and 1 tackle for loss. In one of the better plays I have seen along the goal line, we see Salaam get an absolute great jump off the snap, destroy the center, and individually blow up the play. Outside of this situation we see that Salaam can recognize and feel pressure, working centers backwards toward the play’s direction by getting his hands on and with separation. One thing absent from his tape that I am curious to see is how well Salaam handles double teams. This is something if I was a college coach considering Salaam that I would want to see.
