Lathen has had a very nice prep career for Lewiston, and is a ball-hawking safety with elite instincts in the back end and is an excellent open field tackler. He is rangy and covers a ton of ground and shows a quick trigger in the box and closing speed, while able to cover the entire back end from the middle of the field. He has been very under-recruited but is a no brainer next level kid that that can make a impact on a college roster and is one of the regions best available.

Lathen is a true ball hawk from his safety position, and shows that he can cover the entire back end of the field and is a true sideline to sideline player both when defending the pass and the run. He is a physical in the box kid that takes good angles when coming downhill and brings a nice thump at contact while also showing a high IQ when passing off receivers or working back underneath. Lathen is a well built kid that will only continue to grow and develop in college, and will fit nicely at the free safety position at the D-III+ level.

Lathen is one heck of a football player as he put up a huge junior season for Lewiston. Lathen put up huge numbers for Lewiston on his way to a Co-Offensive Player of the Year honor. A tough downhill runner that has a unique blend of power and speed. Lathen is your quintessential one cut running back that make a decision quickly and gets his shoulders down hill. His break away speed is deceiving as he is so smooth while running that he just passes opponents by. Lathen has a multitude of tools at his disposal as he is a legitimate threat out of the backfield and can really make a huge impact in the passing game. Lathen can be a home run during any point of the game which is his best ability. Lathen is one to watch and know as he is going to really turn some heads again this year and mostly the college heads.
