. The 6-foot-2, 280-pound center is solid, quick to snap and step into position, play with great use-of-hands, and has a mean streak with leveling defenders, almost like a linebacker while maintaining good balance. He had eight pancake blocks and no sacks or pressures allowed in Week 1.
Hobaugh is a good athlete at his size, and he’s a nimble inside lineman who thrives in the running game and going on the move as a lead blocker. He’s got good balance and plays with square pads. He keeps his hands inside and has solid technique, which helps him right at the point of contact. He started all 12 games in year 2 and helped bring stability to the offense. I like where he is right now and feel like he’s right on the cusp of taking off.
Hobaugh is a lengthy lineman who can play all across the line. He’s played inside and outside and had success. He’s fairly nimble for someone with his length, which is why he has that versatility. I like him on the move and getting out front to be the lead blocker. He doesn’t rush downfield to become an ineligible man. It’s little things like that which stand out to me and I appreciate. He started 9 games this year and did not allow a sack. He’s well-grounded and is someone I anticipate climbing the boards.
