Excited to see Marshall carve out a two-way role for himself at Souderton. It feels like yesterday, having Marshall on our WL waiting for him to put tape on Hudl. He’s got junior tape, tape that had him place as a top 40 senior DB in Pennsylvania. Despite the defensive back designation, a label he earned after tape study from last Fall, I can’t help but figure that Marshall has raised his stock as a back.
Marshall could have had at least two-three interceptions against Cheltenham, his play at DB here was impressive, its been impressive all year if I’m being honest. Aligned at inside slot, is a prospect who is fully capable of setting the edge and helping out in run support. Great R&R skills to plays headed to the flat, whether that be swings or screens in front of him. Can double as a safety in single-high sets. Marshall’s yet another smart kid developed by Souderton. Great finisher, great tackling technique. Can run with guys laterally and vertically. Marshall has a future as a DB, yet he’s taken a step up after continuous reps as the lead back in the offense. Understanding gap scheme, understanding the flow of an OL unit, these back reps likely help Marshall diagnose at a high level when aligned at SCB/OLB/S. Glad to see him thriving.
