One week ago, Stephens was given 10 carries for 154 yards and a touchdown in a blowout win over Tates Creek. Stephens has the shiftiness and speed to put defenders on the floor and evade would-be tacklers in pursuit. It’s very impressive how Stephens can turn the corner on some of his runs, maintaining speed to beat defensive backs to the edge. He’s also recorded 3 sacks and 45 tackles from the linebacker position this season.

Harrison Stephens Harrison Stephens 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Lafayette | 2028 State KY is a physical, downhill running back who led the way for Lafayette during the Generals’ 40-8 win over East Jessamine during Week 6. He totaled 170 offensive yards and two touchdowns during an impressive showing. One play saw him carry multiple defenders as he kept his feet moving to fight for extra yardage. Stephens isn’t just a tailback, but is a threat out of the backfield and out wide as well. Lafayette plugs him where they need him, and he often rises to the occasion. He’s been a major piece of the Generals’ 5-1 start this season.

Stephens is a good back with a solid, well-built frame. He runs with good vision and patience, allowing blocks to develop before committing, and shows an understanding of how to set up his runs. He keeps his pad level low and runs through contact, consistently falling forward and picking up extra yards. He’s not easy to bring down on first contact and can handle some physical carries between the tackles. He saw some work last year, but should be in line for a much larger role next fall. I like the way he runs and think he can take a step forward with increased touches and responsibility.
