Johnson is good off the line and does a nice job getting into his routes quickly. He’s comfortable making plays down the field and has no problem tracking and catching the ball over his shoulder. For a younger receiver, he already shows a pretty solid route tree and doesn’t look limited to just a few concepts. He looks the ball all the way in instead of trying to turn upfield too early. He does a bunch of little things correctly, which quickly add up. I think he’s fairly talented and has quite a bit of untapped potential.

impressed me with his route-running skills and his ability to catch contested footballs. Johnson does a great job of creating separation for himself near the line of scrimmage. He also demonstrated a natural ability to catch footballs over his shoulder and in stride, away from defenders. His footwork is solid, aiding him with cuts or breaks in routes. This doesn’t slow him down or break his stride, making it an effective piece to his game. In addition, Johnson catches the football with two hands and makes a visible effort to hold onto the football when contact is unavoidable.

is a promising 2029 receiver who more than held his own while playing up in the 18U division for P2P as the #15 WR in Kentucky for his class. The young slot receiver is shifty and twitchy, with good speed and fluidity for his age, even as he continues to develop physically. He embraced the dirty work in the short and intermediate game, moving the chains and setting up scoring opportunities for teammates with disciplined routes and sharp breaks. Johnson’s polish and production against older players point to a bright future as he continues to grow physically.
