played exceptionally well in week 3 vs Christian Brothers High School. He showcased very good play strength to bully defenders in pass pro and on run concepts. Gilmer constantly looks for work from the Center position and looks to bury defensive lineman. Overall, he showcases quality technique with good instincts, and he puts himself in good positions to seal and create lanes.

The Eagles sport one of the best O-lines in the state going into the 2023 season with Gilmer being one the top key cogs on the Brentwood Academy front that sports a bright future as an offensive guard/center prospect on the college level. Big and powerful with a wide upper body, Gilmer is a mauler in the middle that enjoys putting defenders on their backs. Once he gets his big hands latched on, it’s over the opposition as Gilmer locks in and drives the defender back and usually into the ground. Looking over his junior film, Gilmer also shows nice lower base bend and the upside to develop his lower half even further, making him a very appealing prospect to handle the center position on the collegiate gridiron. This Mid-Tennessee O-lineman is better suited inside where he can use his physicality and football smarts to dominate the interior of the line but he could also fill in at right tackle if needed in a pinch but Gilmer’s best upside is definitely inside. He does need to continue working on his overall athleticism and explosion coming off the ball while continuing to add in the needed size. Gilmer shows flashes of explosive play and the ability to get out quickly when trying to pull or get to the second level after snapping but continued work on his lower half will turn this Eagles mauler into a more highly recruited prospect for the D1 level. These offseason months are critical for Gilmer as he tries to develop his game further and work himself into a more hotly pursued recruit that could become a steal for whoever signs him in the end.
