The Pelican Rapids Vikings had an overall strong showing at the 2026 Bemidji State War on the Shore small school team camp. With a roster returning some size, playmaking ability, and varsity experience going into the fall, the Vikings are led at the front by a behemoth of a prep QB in Grady Larson Grady Larson 6'2" | 215 lbs | QB Pelican Rapids | 2027 State MN , a massive 6’2, 220 lber. with tree trunks for legs and some frightening dual-threat ability from the QB position.

Larson, rocking #11 for the Vikings, had a really strong showing during War on the Shore competition and proved himself to be a game-changer from the QB position who highlighted his play by trucking the living daylights out of a Park Rapids safety or linebacker right on the goal line for a physically-impressively, put-you-on-your-butt TD carry and finish. Larson proved he can get through his reads well, and we have some good reps on film of him seeing the field well and working through his progression to make the right choice and throw. He threw a great ball on the move, throws an overall tight spiral with a compact throwing motion and delivery, and he can stretch the field with the flick of his wrist. He tried to fit the ball into some tight windows during War on the Shore, sometimes rightly, sometimes wrongly but can put tougher throws on a rope and flashed a smooth off-platform delivery as well.

Larson had a particularly great throw against Breckenridge that involved him throwing a bit back across his body for a laser of a strike in the back of the endzone and between two Cowboy DBs, although it was unfortunately called out of bounds by his WRs feet.
