Gary has done a great job of continuing to get better. He moves well, has good size and physical traits to compete with any receiver. He is starting to receive the coaching he needs to match his football IQ to his raw ability. He is quick with good closing speed, and has shown big growth in reading the receivers hands and making plays on the ball. Keep an eye on Gary as he could impress this season!

One kid I have had the pleasure to see this offseason is Gary Maxwell Gary Maxwell 5'6" | 140 lbs | DB Ferndale | 2025 State MI . While only a Junior, this will be Gary’s 3rd season of varsity ball! An absolute ballhawk on defense, and being compared to Sauce Gardner, he will look to add to his 7 picks in just 19 games. He moves extremely well, breaks quickly and can change direction on a dime. Ferndale is going to be extremely tough to throw on with Maxwell back there.

I’ve had the chance of watching Gary a couple times this offseason, and he definitely improved from the 1st to 2nd time. I love his balance and how he contests every catch, and doesn’t give up on the play. I mentioned it before, but he’s making the move to safety which I really like for him. His athleticism and playmaking should shine there, which gets me pretty excited.

Gary is a 2 year starter already, and has great natural ability. The thing that really impresses me is that he is making a change from CB to Safety which I think will fit him well as now he can fly around and make plays all over. He looked really good when I saw him this summer, and it set a high bar for him in my mind. Having the experience he already has, plus moving over to a position that should suit him may springboard this guy into huge success this fall.
