might not have put up flashy numbers last year, but he’s got the size and tools to break out in a big way as a senior. At 6’0″ and 255 pounds, he’s strong enough to toss linemen aside and carve out a straight path to the ball. What stands out is how quick his feet are for that frame, which lets him close gaps and make life easier for the linebackers behind him. He’s the type of defensive lineman who can set the tone physically and free up his teammates to fly around.

Barrett was a standout on both side of the line for ALA-Ironwood as a junior and was selected First Team All-Region and Second Team All-State. 6’0” 275 lbs. he plays with an edge to be a force on both sides but size and skillset project him on the defensive line at the college level. Strong anchor makes him tough to move while playing with good leverage and a low center of gravity. Violent at the POA he accelerates upon contact to shed blockers effectively and drive ball carriers to the ground aggressively. Like his ability to be a two gap defender and stack double teams to clog space and collapse the pocket from the inside. Shows good bend and short area burst to react to play development and make tackles outside his gap. Moved up 50 overall spots this rankings update and recently pulled in offers from Wisconsin-River Falls and Central College.

is a dominant force in the run game for ALA Ironwood’s defense. Even if he isn’t able to quickly break past the offensive linemen, he does a great job of crashing down to the ball carrier and quickly closes gaps which makes it easier for his linebackers to flock to the ball. In a show of his impressive strength, he’s often able to effortlessly throw around the lineman across from him and have a straight path to make the play. at 6’0″ and 255 lbs he still possesses some quick feet that allow him to rush from the edge as well as from the nose tackle spot. Barrett is a player coaches should be watching closely through the 2024 season.
