Fanua announced his commitment to Cal this week. The high-upside OL/DL out of Mt. Miguel is one of the most talented two-way players in the county with a skillset that could translate to either side of the ball at the next level. He’s been one of the biggest risers on the recruiting trail this offseason racking up nine D-I offers over the past six months. Fanua chose the Golden Bears over other offers from Boise St. San Diego St., and San Jose St.

Fanua added Mountain West offers from San Jose St. and San Diego St. this month. The junior OL out of Mount Miguel has been one of the biggest stock-risers so far this offseason picking up seven D-I offers in January including Boise St., UNLV, and Sacramento St. Powerful athlete at 6’2″/260 that showed his ability to dominate the LOS on both sides of the ball as a junior. Fanua also holds offers from Cal and Central Michigan.

Fanua picked up his first P-4 offer from Cal to close out the month. The 6’2″/260 junior is proving to be a physical force in the trenches on both sides of the ball for Mt. Miguel this season. He’s a strong interior blocker from his OG spot that can move DTs off the ball and moves well in the run game. Fanua’s first offer came from Central Michigan in January.

Fanua cracked Prep Redzone’s 2026 CA rankings after a strong sophomore season that helped him generate his first D-I offer from Central Michigan in January. He’s a powerful IOL (OG) that moves well and does damage when attacking his blocks downhill. He does a good job of locating targets, moving under control, and closing the space to meet defenders with force. He makes good use of his hands to redirect and finishes blocks through the whistle. Fanua possesses the size (6’2”/260), physical tools, and technique to develop into one of the premier IOL prospects in California’s 2026 class.
