About Finley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Very smart, and highly aggressive. I like to be in control out on the field and in the huddle. I lead with a ton of fire and passion, and play fast and furious, without fear.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I don't claim to be perfect, but I do not make many mistakes. I never give up on a play, and the fire and passion I play with is off the charts. I am very calm off the field, but fiery on it. I Practice how I play as well. I always give the same effort on the field as an athlete and off the field as a student.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society, VCLA (Viking Christian Leaders Association), Reading buddies for grade school kids, Milwaukee Baseball Academy, AP/Honors classes

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was selected as the only Junior Captain this past season. I gained the trust and confidence of my coaches and teammates with what I did in the off-season, as well as what I have provided in the season. I call the defensive plays and am relied on to lead my defense in all phases on the field. I was also selected as a First Team All-Conference ILB in the Woodland Conference.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My course load and class schedule don't always allow me to have a ton of free time. I also work out daily, and play two Varsity sports. I love having a plan each day and staying busy, but it comes at a cost sometimes. Being an honor student and having NHS responsibilities takes up more time as well. I have had to adapt more than ever.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking at going the Chemical Engineering, Actuarial Sciences route. I would prefer to stay Midwest, but am open to anything that provides football, academic, and life success.

Finley is back for his senior season and another year holding down an LB spot for Wisconsin Lutheran. While he may not have next level LB size, Finley has a place on defense for him somewhere. He shines on Friday nights with his agility and acceleration allowing him to knife through the front seven untouched. The senior LB is so quick to read and react and meet the ball right near the line of scrimmage. His highlights from the week are loaded up with examples of OL or TEs whiffing on blocking him because of how sudden he can move and avoid. Don’t sleep on the senior chess piece.
