Stat Line: 7 Tackles, 3 TFLs

August has been a very consistent top performer for the Wisconsin Lutheran defense this season. The senior has been so stout against the run game, especially between the tackles. His tools perfectly fit that of a downhill, between the tackles defender. He is quick through the hole and also can muscle his way through with his 5’11” 200 lbs frame thanks to a strong lower body. This week the tape also showed that August has some range to his game, chasing down ball carriers outside the tackle box and even out to the sideline. He also had to make plays behind his initial alignment, dropping into coverage. We are seeing more and more of a well rounded game from the Wisco Lutheran senior.

Season Stats: 48 Tackles, 5 TFLs, .5 Sacks

August has made strides from where he was a year ago. It isn’t just an increase in production. August has been very good vs the run game. He plays strong and is stout while filling against the run. We see an increase in his power as he muscles through OL to get to the ball carrier. His ability to navigate traffic, or power through it, to get to the ball is jumping off the tape on a week to week basis. I love the instincts and aggressive play style. August is on the rise and could be a steal for one of the many D3 programs across WI. Check him out.

The Wisconsin Lutheran LB could be the target of the vast D3 programs across this state over this offseason. The 5’10” 190 lbs junior lacks the prototypical size, but he makes up for it on the field. August ran a 4.81 40, 4.54 shuttle, and 7.38 L-Drill. Those are all solid numbers, but August finds a different gear on the field. He was so quick to get downhill against the run game, close quickly, and use the sideline to his advantage. The junior also did well playing in space vs the pass too. He is the ability to drop and slide then turn and run with an RB. The LB/S hybrid put himself on the map with his efforts.
