Everett has stepped up in a major way for this DeWitt defense. A big reason why he’s performed so well thus far is because of his getoff. Three games, and three offensive tackles who can’t match Everett’s speed. Everett’s second highlight showcases him bending around the edge, just past the slower offensive tackle. Similarly, at 0:26, Everett stunts inside and leaves the OT with zero chance. Even further, 1:03 shows a great read and block shed, blowing up the counter run.
Everett is skilled enough to play anywhere on the D-Line. Usually, he’s a 5-tech, but sometimes lines up as a 3-tech. I like what I see regarding Everett’s versatility, burst, and bend. Great job exploding out of his stance, but Everett could still improve his reaction time.
