Kraintz has shown promising development this offseason coming into his third season as starter for the Elko offense. He’s a mobile passer that rushed for just under 1,000 yards and 11 TDs last season, gets the ball out with a quick, efficient release and shows impressive finesse and accuracy fitting passes into tight windows. Kraintz is a QB to keep an eye on for continued development this fall and should be on the D-III radar ahead of his senior season.

Kraintz is coming into his senior season as a third-year starter for Elko. Passed for over 1,100 yards and 4 TDs as a junior but threw 10 INTs- a number he’ll need to cut down on in the fall. The 5’9″/160 signal-caller has stayed busy this offseason participating in multiple camps this month including Utah and Boise St. and has shown improvement in his arm strength and ball placement as a passer. Shows good mechanics in his release and throwing motion and operates with light, quick feet from the pocket. Kraintz is a northern Nevada QB to keep on the radar for continued development this upcoming season.

Kraintz showed his skillset and ability as a passer in his first season as starter for Elko. He’s a decisive and accurate passer from the pocket that can make quick decisions and get the ball out on time in the RPO game. He shows promising touch and placement on his deep ball and light feet when moving the pocket. Would like to see him cut down on turnovers as a junior (14 TDS/10 INTs). Kraintz is one of the top QBs to watch in 3A’s Northern division as a junior.

saw time sparingly as a varsity quarterback for Elko High School in 2022. I immediately noticed Ethan’s arm strength on Elko’s freshmen tape, and I would expect college coaches to overlook Ethan’s height and do the same this season. While Ethan’s dual-threat potential shows during freshmen games, watch for Ethan to show real development as a passer in 2023. Varsity dual-threat ability gets displayed in Ethan’s strength and balance that allows him to run over freshmen defenders in the box. Ethan’s accuracy shows leading receivers thirty yards downfield while on the run. Good anticipation gets displayed consistently delivering well-timed throws in between defenders’ zones over the middle. Mobility, arm strength, and good decision making when forced out of pocket are all tools that evaluators hope Ethan will continue to show as a sophomore passer for Elko this fall.
