Smith is a smart, versatile player with upside on both sides of the ball. Defensively, I like his range, vision, and closing speed. He reads plays well, gets to the football in a hurry, and has the athleticism to make plays all over the field. Offensively, he has good vision and the speed to turn small openings into big plays. He got varsity work on both sides last season and made the most of his opportunities, putting up 26 tackles and 9 PBUs while adding 310 all-purpose yards and 4 touchdowns offensively. I like his versatility and the confidence he plays with.
