Emory has been all over our rankings after busting on to the scene two years ago in helping the Lions’ win a state championship. With a new head coach known for making strong running games work, Emory is in a big position to possibly have a career year in his senior season. Emory has definitely gotten bigger, but he still shows very good speed and agility going through drills in the agility circuit most notably. Expect Emory to also run.through some weak tackle attacks all season long, as I love the diversity of his game with the football in his hands.

I was really impressed with Emory’s performance at this showcase, and it really came from what he showed as a pass catcher in the 1 on 1 period against linebackers. Emory has shown on film how strong of a runner he is in helping lead the Lions to a state championship in the playoffs last season. But Emory put some nice moves on display during the pass-catching period, showing very good hands and speed in the open field. Recruiting for running backs has been slower in the transfer portal era, but I think Emory is on his way to a strong season and definitely turned the heads of some college coaches with his performance here.

Adding Emory into these rankings was a no-brainer decision, mainly because as the season went along and the games got bigger and more important, Emory played his football and the Lions trusted him in big moments on their way to winning a state championship. His improvement this past season was exponential, and the numbers don’t tell the full story. Emory runs the ball hard, straight-ahead, and downhill – but he has the speed to break big plays into the open field. He runs bigger than his frame listed at 5’11 and 185 pounds. Emory recently picked up his first collegiate offer from Johnson C. Smith University.
