ranked sixth in the province and fifth among Canadian quarterbacks, is one of my top prospects in Western Canada for the 2025 class. With the potential to climb into the top fifteen in the national rankings, Ward stands at 6’5″ and weighs 205 pounds. He completed 59% of his passes in his junior year, amassing 1818 yards and 16 touchdowns. Ward’s arm strength is suited for the diverse throws required of a collegiate quarterback. He adeptly layers passes across all three levels with velocity and adjusts his arm angle to bypass defenders, ensuring that the throws are delivered on time. His ability to push the ball downfield is notable, and his precision and touch on deep passes set him apart from his peers. Ward’s pocket footwork and drop-backs are notably advanced for a player in Canada. He can scramble for yardage when necessary but prefers to keep his eyes downfield, showing skill in throwing on the run and on off-platform throws. Although his throwing motion could be refined for a faster release, it doesn’t detract from his prospects as an exceptional quarterback, deserving of NCAA Power Four consideration.

rounds out the top 5 at his position but is the 2nd highest-ranked non-cegep quarterback in our rankings. Ward already has an intriguing frame at 6’5 200+ pounds and he showcases on film really impressive arm talent. Ward can push the ball vertically really well and what separates him from other quarterbacks in the class is his touch and accuracy on deep throws. Ward showcases really good playmaking ability with his feet on film, he is not a run-first quarterback but his pocket presence and escapability often extend plays and lead to turning a lot of what could be negative plays into positive plays.

Ward, who has the size that attracts universities has some impressive tape. The 6’5 signal-caller has a smooth throwing motion and can make throws on all three levels. Ward shows good touch on his throws and good poise in the pocket. Ward shows the athletic ability to escape and extend outside of the pocket both making throws outside the pocket and shows the ability to extend plays as a runner past the line of scrimmage. Ward is not the fastest on the field, but his long strides and one-cut style of running make him a playmaker in the open field.
