I have looked through some prospects from British Columbia and while we continue to add prospects to our site for our rankings update, I decided to evaluate several prospects from the area that show skills and tape that are very intriguing and show the potential to play at the next level.

Best 2025 Defensive Players in B.C. by Kason Randhawa
Hubbard, a two-way player at cornerback and wide receiver showcases impressive athleticism all over his tape. As a defender, Hubbard has a long lean frame that gives him an advantage playing the corner and playing the ball as a defensive back. Hubbard plays physically in press-man coverage and does a good job utilizing his hands to make impactful initial contact. As a tackler, Hubbard is willing to put his shoulder through guys, he wraps up well but will tend to opt for attempting bigger hits than wrapping up. Hubbard played mostly defense in his most recent highlights, in older film he is a solid WR prospect who utilizes his size, reach, and hands to make plays.

Ward, who has the size that attracts universities has some impressive tape. The 6’5 signal-caller has a smooth throwing motion and can make throws on all three levels. Ward shows good touch on his throws and good poise in the pocket. Ward shows the athletic ability to escape and extend outside of the pocket both making throws outside the pocket and shows the ability to extend plays as a runner past the line of scrimmage. Ward is not the fastest on the field, but his long strides and one-cut style of running make him a playmaker in the open field.

Gonzales, a two-way player from Vancouver plays Safety, Cornerback, and Wide Receiver. Gonzales shows good change of direction and ball skills at all three positions he plays. As a defender, he reads the quarterback well and while typically playing off coverage shows fluid hips in transition in coverage. Gonzales is a good tackler, showing a willingness to hit hard while also being an effective tackler in space not overpursing targets and using proper tackling technique. Gonzales at the wide receiver position is a smooth route runner and showcases good hands, consistently catching the ball away from his body.

Highlights
Hageleit, a quarterback/athlete prospect shows some versatility on film. As a quarterback, he is often asked to be a ball carrier on designed runs. He shows good quickness and change of direction in the open field with the ability to make guys miss. Throwing the ball, Hageleit has a smooth release both in the pocket and when he throws on the run. He has a natural touch on his passes and shows accuracy in the short and intermediate areas of the field. Hageleit shows solid poise in the pocket, although he does spend a lot of time throwing on the run outside the pocket where he shows that same calm demeanor with defenders after him.

Highlights
McAllister has good size at 6’2 190lbs and as a WR prospect, he displays some quality traits on tape. McAllister is a solid blocker with good blocking technique and shows the ability to block in space consistently. McAllister has good hands, he consistently catches the ball away from his body. As a route runner, McAllister has a good release off the line of scrimmage and shows quickness out of his breaks. McAllister does a good job of finding space against zone coverage it may be his best trait as a receiver. McAllister has production on tape and is one of many intriguing prospects out of British Columbia.
