has been arguably the most electric running back in Oklahoma over the last two seasons. Crawford has been a playmaker since early on in his high school career and has been on our radar since the offseason between his freshman and sophomore seasons. But Crawford turned into a monster as a junior and continued that in 2022 as a senior. Crawford hit the weight room hard in the 2022 offseason and came out with much more strength to his game to go with the lightning quick moves. Crawford is taking those shifty moves to the SEC and Arkansas as he continues to improve and develop.

finds himself as a finalist for Player Of The Year following another stellar season this year for Grove. As the Ridgerunners moved up from 4A to 5A this season, Crawford continued to elevate his game and found new ways to terrorize defenses this season. He was once again one of the best running backs in the state with just over 2,300 yards and 36 touchdowns on the ground. But that wasn’t enough. He also added nearly 550 yards and seven touchdowns on just 19 receptions this season. Crawford and the Ridgerunners ran into eventual champion Carl Albert in the semifinals but it was fitting that the final time Crawford touched the football, he would find his way into the end zone on his final carry. Crawford has been a highlight machine for several years now and he announced this week that he’s headed to Arkansas.Access all of Prep Redzone

ran up, down and around the field in Collinsville as the Ridgerunners beat up on the defending 5A state champions. Crawford would finish with well over 300 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the night and sent a reminder on why he truly is one of the top overall players in the state. Crawford’s performance was incredibly impressive to watch that night and it was just one of many that he had this season and even back to last year. He’s a truly special talent that is so tough to bring down. He reminded me that night of some of the more elusive backs in history and the phrase “you couldn’t tackle him in a phone booth” kept popping into our mind. He’s that slippery of a player with the ball in his hands.Access all of Prep Redzone

. Like Robinson, Crawford is the top running back prospect in his class and he’s been one of the top overall players in the state for the last few years. In their quarterfinal win over Guthrie, Crawford eclipsed the 2,000 yard mark for the second straight season and it seems like Crawford is reaching new heights in terms of his production over the last month or so. While Crawford put up monster numbers all year last season, he’s been on his A-game over the last five to six weeks. It’s almost as if Crawford was slowly building to this. He doesn’t have near as much of a workload as he had last season and that is scary to think about.

Grove remained unbeaten with a blowout victory over Sapulpa in the first round. And at this point, we shouldn’t be surprised that senior running back Emmanuel Crawford

could not be stopped and he put up some monster numbers once again. Crawford finished with just over 300 yards and five touchdowns in the win over Sapulpa. But Crawford also caught a 52-yard touchdown in the win, giving him over 350 yards of total offense and six touchdowns in the runaway victory. Crawford and the Ridgerunners are clicking on all cylinders right now and they’ll look to continue that momentum when they host Guthrie in the quarterfinals.Access all of Prep Redzone

We already wrote about the Grove quarterback. The other standout in the Ridgerunner backfield is senior running back

. The senior was outstanding last season as he ran for well over 2,000 yards on the season and became a finalist for the Player Of The Year award. This season, while his production is down on the year, his best performances are in Grove’s biggest games. He’s also rested and ready for the playoffs as opposed to last year when he had a lot of carries prior to the playoffs. We’ve used this analogy a couple of times but there’s no better way to describe the Grove senior. You couldn’t tackle him in a phone booth. Are there phone booths anymore? It doesn’t matter, you get the point. Crawford is one of the more electric players in Oklahoma.

. The Grove star had an absurd junior season. He added some muscle in the offseason and while the numbers haven’t been as impressive, he is a much better running back this season. We saw Crawford in person in late October against defending 5A champion Collinsville and Crawford could not be contained. Even when it looked like three or four Cardinal defenders had him bottled up, they didn’t. The best way we can describe it is the old school “he couldn’t be tackled in a phone booth” analogy. Crawford is so slippery and elusive and then he has the breakaway speed in the open field.

, who finished with well over 300 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Crawford is no stranger to performances like Friday night, but what’s been impressive about Crawford and Grove this season is that he hasn’t had to be Superman for the Ridgerunners. And that’s bad news for the rest of Class 5A because he’s probably as fresh as you can be with the playoffs around the corner.Access all of Prep Redzone

was without a doubt the player of the game with 338 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries. He also had 21 yards on three receptions. Crawford hasn’t had to play like Superman many times this year but he did this week. And look, Crawford has been one of the best players in the state for over a year now. His performance on Friday night shouldn’t be surprising. But what was surprising is how much better he is from when we saw him in person last. Crawford is bigger, but he still has that breakaway speed. And I don’t know how many times Collinsville thought they had him contained, wrapped up and nowhere to go, until they didn’t. Crawford reminded us of the saying “you couldn’t tackle him in a phone booth.” It played out that way on Friday night.

is featured as a Top Performer this season. Last year, Crawford was featured almost every single week but he’s definitely taking a new role this year. The Ridgerunners are hoping that Crawford doesn’t have as much wear and tear when the playoffs roll around. But on Friday night, the Ridgerunners were tested by Claremore but Crawford took his game to that level that we got used to seeing last year when he was a Player Of The Year finalist. In the win over the Zebras, Crawford couldn’t be stopped as he would finish with just over 300 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught a 49-yard touchdown. Crawford is still one of the more dynamic players in the state and he reminded everyone of that on Friday as he ran away from the Zebras and lit up the scoreboard in the process.Access all of Prep Redzone
