The running back position was a question mark going into the 2024 season after the graduation of Jaylen Harper. Running back Elijah Smith Elijah Smith Elijah Smith 5'10" | RB Guthrie | 2026 State OK would step up and enjoy a breakout junior season in 2024. Smith would finish the year with well over 1,000 yards and ten touchdowns. He was definitely one of the breakout players on that Guthrie offense and he could be primed for an even bigger 2025 season. With the Blue Jays losing Carlock to graduation, that’s going to open the door for more carries for Smith in 2025. In addition to Rice at the quarterback position, Smith could be another player that sees a serious improvement with his production on the field this fall.
