. He is physical and fast up front, I feel bad for lineman trying to take him on, he embarrasses them weekly. Hughes could play linebacker or defensive end at the next level in my opinion. He plays the run well and has the speed to let any back to the outside. Give this young man a follow you will not be disappointed, he is on the long list of many major schools recruiting lists.

It’s not often a player shows up twice in a Game Report for two different teams, but I was able to see Elijah play again this year due to a mid-season transfer. I have covered him on a mid-season review recently that you can view here. What I’ll attest to is that what you see on film is what you see throughout the game. He shoots the gap assignment quick and disrupts the running game. His ability to pick up a new defense and ability to communicate on the field pre-snap shows his knowledge and understanding of the game.

Elijah recently transferred to EC Glass and has found a role at the middle backer position on defense. I was able to see him while he played for Brookville earlier this season, and he was one of my standout players from that game. He is a good downhill player when it comes to filling his gap, with good reaction to the play. He displays good range to cover the field. His film below shows him making stops versus some of the best players in the state showing his dependability to win one-on-one battles during the play. I like what I am seeing out of Elijah this season.

Elijah is a strong OLB for Brookville and showed why he’s ranked the 23rd LB in the Class of 2026. He does a good job of using his hands to engage, anchor his feet, create separation and shed the block to tackle the RB. He hustles through the play and made tackles downfield because of his hustle.
