At 6’2 150, Diego Gamez Diego Gamez 6'2" | 150 lbs | DB Coal Ridge | 2026 State CO shows a long frame with room to add weight.  On the defensive side he is versatile and can play CB and S .  I like him at S where he does a good job diagnosing plays and quickly reacting.  When he is the 2nd or 3rd guy in on tackles he likes to go for the ball and was successful At WR I love how he runs his slants – threatens vertical, changes direction so quickly and creates a lot of separation.  Along the sideline Gamez has great awareness and body control to get two feet down consistently.  With 9 TDs(!) and 19.9 YPC, Gamez was quite the playmaker this season.

A true ballhawk, Gamez hauled in an impressive eight interceptions this season, returning one for a touchdown. His instincts in coverage allow him to jump routes and create turnovers, making him a major problem for opposing quarterbacks. But his impact isn’t limited to the passing game, he also forced a fumble and showed his ability to step up against the run, delivering big hits when needed. Gamez thrives in one on one matchups, often shutting down an opponent’s top receiver and taking them out of the game plan. His combination of coverage skills, physicality, and football IQ makes him one of the premier defensive backs in 2A. Expect him to hit the camp circuit hard and continue turning heads.
