About Deric

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe it as explosive, disciplined, and always hungry for more!! I am considered a leader on my team as well as a role model.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Teamwork is very important to me. I work hard to make sure that everyone is working together and doing their best. I have a "give it your all" mentality and I never hold back.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in A+ and I do tutoring at my high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a very inclusive leader. I work hard to make sure everyone on the team is on the same page and working towards a common goal. I am extremely disciplined and I never quit.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

At the beginning of my 10th grade year, we lost our football coach. All of us had to pull together to make sure that we had a great season. We had lots of transitions but we got through it by working smarter and harder. After I lost my younger brother, I learned that you have to persevere and keep your priorities as the main thing.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go to a college where I can play football and excel as a student. I am looking for an opportunity to further my education while playing football. I want to be at a college that values me as a student athlete.

I’m already a huge fan of Washington.

I’m not sure if there is a linebacker playing better in Southwest, Missouri than Deric Washington Deric Washington Deric Washington 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB/ATH Glendale | 2026 State MO . He has been nothing short of magnificent for the Glendale Falcons. There were times last year when he struggled with trusting his eyes and relied on pure athletic ability. This year, it seems he has put it all together and is playing his best football in his young career.

Washington’s junior year was eye-opening, midway through his senior year every college program would be lucky to grab this kid.
