Derek Weitzel Derek Weitzel 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Avon | 2028 State OH is an outstanding two-way lineman who is very quick to pull, reach the second level and drive defenders off the ball. Weitzel has good hand placement, timing and latch. I love his aggressiveness as a run blocker. On defense he plays with good bend, leverage and pad level, plugging the middle against the run and requiring multiple blockers, allowing others to clean up the play. I see Weitzel as a player who could see his recruiting pop during college camps.

Derek Weitzel Derek Weitzel 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Avon | 2028 State OH , a starting two-way lineman for defending state champion Avon, is strong on both sides of the ball. He flashes being a good puller in the run game who can quickly step, get vertical and strike a moving target at the second level. His real strength though is on defense, where he is a tough interior defensive tackle who can create disruption in the backfield and wrap up against the run. Weitzel will be a key returning starter for the Eagles in 2026.
