Denver Harper Denver Harper 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Russell County | 2025 State AL is a lanky, speedy WR prospect with the ability to play inside and out. He is a verified track athlete, and it shows on tape, frequently threatening defenses vertically with his speed and breaking the tape against defenses with his long, clean strides. He is a weaver with the the ball in his hands, maintaining his speed through angles as he runs around defenders. He isn’t the most twitchy prospect, but he has enough to quickly change direction and stem off underneath concepts if he can get DBs vertical. He is lighter, but does have physical plays on tape and appears willing to play above the rim if needed. If he reaches his ceiling or not will depend on if he can develop enough explosiveness and twitch off the snap to beat press. However, his floor as a returner and on sweeps/screens is appealing. At the very least, he is an explosive play in a pinch.

Harper is really dangerous on double moves, selling his fake well by stuttering his steps and dropping his weight. He can get open against man coverage on isolation routes. He’s surprisingly agile in the short area despite his height, and he runs a nasty whip route. Harper is strong at the catch point, using his long frame to shield defenders from the ball while showing excellent concentration to jump, twist, and contort in the air to bring it down.

Denver Harper Denver Harper 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Russell County | 2025 State AL was another one of the top receivers in the state this fall and proved to be a really valuable member of Russell County’s offense this season. Harper was an electric playmaker for them, no matter where he lined up he was able to make a lot of crucial catches at all levels of the field and consistently found the end zone as well. On the season, Harper recorded 51 total receptions for 1003 yards and 11 touchdowns, making an impact downfield and after the catch in some big ways. Harper is a speedster, he can really stretch the field and take the top off of defenses with his quickness- in addition to getting open he can also make defenders miss with a lot of ease and is a consistent playmaker with the ball in his hands. Keep an eye on him going into next season, he’s going to have a huge senior year set up for him!

Harper shows a solid release getting off the line, even against press coverage. Time and time again, he showed the ability to drop his hips and cut on a dime. He is smooth when changing direction and/or speed to change up the route. He has all the tools required to run any and every route in the route tree. Not only was Harper solid on basic catches, but he was able to box out corners and go up for contested catches. One of the biggest reasons for his success on contested catches was his body control. The way that he was able to adjust himself in midair at times to get to off target throws was extremely impressive.

Harper has been instrumental in his team’s success, racking up some impressive stats in the process: on the year he’s recorded 31 receptions for a total of 656 yards and 6 touchdowns. Harper is extremely quick on his feet and can run some terrific routes, most importantly though, he has showcased his ability to make big plays and score crucial touchdowns all year long. Harper’s talent has helped him pick up some well-deserved attention from the collegiate level. Recently Harper received scholarship offers from both Memphis and North Alabama, and with how he’s been playing, we could see more come his way!
