Expert Analysis

Lucas is a favorite of mine and someone who I have always considered as one of the best 2028 RBs in AL. I have always considered Lucas an extremely well-developed player who has just seemed another step ahead of most other backs in the state, at least from a physical standpoint. He is a compact, strong player who hovers around 5’10 190. He is another bowling ball style back with the elusiveness and twitch to create his own yards, but he will put his head down and welcome contact if needed. He has several FBS, and even P4 offers under his belt, but I still think he isn’t getting the love he deserves nationally.

Chris Lucas Chris Lucas 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Russell County | 2028 State AL was one of the breakout stars of the season and is making his debut as our #4 RB and #29 overall prospect in the class.
“Lucas is a FUN player to watch. He has a great blend of physicality and speed that he uses to make an impact every time the ball is in his hands. He’s quick, has great vision, and can use his speed to turn upfield for some massive gains on the ground. When you pair that with how he makes defenders miss with his cuts, spins, and ability to change his direction, it makes him a threat every snap.
On top of that, he has the strength and power to straight-up bully defenders. You can watch him run over guys and take on multiple tacklers before he goes down. He’s a hard player to stop. I’m excited to watch him for the next few years.“
Lucas is a talented player who’s been picking up collegiate interest for good reason. See for yourself in his tape below, he’s got a bright future ahead.

An offer last week from West Virginia is a quick preview of what this offseason should look like for Lucas. He has developed beyond his years and is one of the most prototypical 2028 RBs in Alabama. He is a big body who can get you tough yards and power through contact to end runs, but he has the burst and explosiveness to vacate space and get upfield. Lucas has a high floor, and I am expecting him to be popular amongst FBS schools this offseason.
