2025 Weir TE Damir Mowder Damir Mowder 6'1" | 215 lbs | TE Weir | 2025 State WV has been the Red Riders’ top receiving target this season as one of the few returning varsity players from last season’s semifinals team.
Mowder had his breakout game of the season against East Fairmont two weeks ago and was no match for their single man coverage. He caught 6 passes for 228 yards and 3 touchdowns on the night while averaging 38 yards per reception. Mowder is playing wideout at the high school level but likely projects as a TE at the next level with how he’s built. He’s a physical specimen with impressive athletic traits to pair with it that should allow him to develop into a future college standout.

Weir TE Damir Mowder Damir Mowder 6'1" | 215 lbs | TE Weir | 2025 State WV is an underrated prospect in West Virginia who many people may not be aware of yet, but he’s quietly been a very good player for the Red Riders in recent years and should break out during his senior season. Mowder was previously ranked as a WR in our rankings but from seeing him in person at camps this off-season, he’s built like a TE with the potential to play LB/DE in college too. Weir loses the bulk of their offense from last season which saw them make the Class AA semifinals which puts Mowder in a great position to put up his best offensive stats to date in 2024. He’s a physical specimen who hasn’t looked like a high school player ever since his sophomore year and one of the more impressively put-together athletes we’ve seen in person this year. That makes it all the more impressive that Mowder lined up at safety some last season with the athleticism at his size to play on the back end.
His best position at the next level is yet to be determined, but we’re eager to see him get more looks on offense as a pass catcher with a new quarterback in fellow 2025

2025 Weir athlete Damir Mowder Damir Mowder 6'1" | 215 lbs | TE Weir | 2025 State WV ranks as a Top 5 TE in our rankings but worked out as a defensive lineman at the Bethany College Prospect Camp. Mowder is as physically impressive of an athlete as I’ve seen this year at camps and already looks like a college player from a build standpoint. That’s been the case since his underclassman days and has looked the part for a while now. Mowder tested well for a TE prospect with a 4.91 40, 4.5 pro shuttle, and a 3-yard broad jump. I could see him playing linebacker in college too, but he’s been mostly a WR and a DB at the high school level to date which is impressive given how big he is.
Mowder is one of the more underrated prospects in the WV 2025 class and is a hidden gem that D2 and D3 programs should be monitoring closely. He’s ready to have a true breakout season in 2024 for his senior year.

Weir athlete Damir Mowder Damir Mowder 6'1" | 215 lbs | TE Weir | 2025 State WV is someone who has always had a high ceiling as a prospect and the production is beginning to start to match his upside. Mowder had a huge role in the upset of Scott in the Class AA quarterfinals to propel the Red Riders to the semis. They were able to throw the ball around more this season which really benefitted Mowder’s game and got the ball in his hands more. He’s a great-looking athlete at 6’2 195 who’s built well from a physical standpoint. He could end up playing receiver or linebacker at the next level but will be ranked as a WR at this time. Mowder has a lot of raw potential and upside as a prospect and is someone who may be under the radar and underrated at this current juncture of his career. If he takes the next step in 2024 he could really see his stock rise in both the rankings and college recruitment.
