Our first quarterback on today’s breakdown is Marshalltown signal caller Dalen Huston Dalen Huston 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Marshalltown | 2024 State IA and in terms of quarterbacks with high upside, Huston is at the top of the list in the 2024 class. Now, full disclosure, his future as a prospect might be more as an athlete as he has a high upside to play multiple positions at the next level. Huston’s film from last season definitely puts him in the conversation for one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the state, regardless of class. Huston passes the eye test at 6’4 and over 200 pounds. Huston is also a playmaker on the basketball floor so athleticism is clearly not a problem for the two-sport standout. On the football field, Huston has a very strong arm but the majority of his production was in the ground game as a very powerful and effective runner. He put up numbers as a passer as well but based on his production alone, he was a very dangerous runner. The film showcases that as well. Huston could very well end up playing a few different positions at the next level but one thing is for sure, he has next level talent and when you’re talking about prospects with upside, Huston has a very bright future.
