Hoping to continue his success, Connor will look to put everything he has into this game. He has played great through 12 games, finding the end zone 17 times through the air and 11 on the ground. Connor’s arm skills makes it difficult to stop at every level on the field. He is deadly accurate for the 5-10 yard throws and has the arm strength to let his guys beat the defender and run under it. Westwood vs. Bernards has two of the better QBs in New Jersey on display.

Bernards has a pass attack that, when going at full capacity, can be extremely difficult to stop.

Connor puts his team in position to put up points no matter where they are on the field. With the arm strength he has, he’s able to condense “60 yards to go” into one play. On top of that, Connor is very careful with the ball and isn’t one to make unwise throws. With 14 touchdowns to 1 interception, and 10 touchdowns on the ground, Connor has been the focal point of this offense’s success.

Playing QB for Bernards, Connor had a stellar junior season while lighting up the scoreboard with 17 passing touchdowns and 3 on the ground, alongside 1259 passing yards and another 311 on the ground as well. Connor is a strong armed lefty with great size for his position. Right out of  the play fake he keeps his eyes downfield while determining his best options. He is able to get his shoulders around and dart the ball on a line or loft it over the defenders on the deeper routes. Connor is agile in the pocket and makes guys miss in the pocket or tucks it and runs.

Leading the offensive assault for Bernards Mountaineers was the 6’2″ 180lb QB Connor Laverty Connor Laverty 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Bernards | 2024 State NJ . Laverty completed 99/167, or 59%, of his passes for 1263 yards with a 17:3 TD to Interception ratio. He also rushed 40 times for 311 yards and 4 TDs.

The first thing you notice about this signal caller is that he is a lefty. Once you get past that you notice Laverty does a nice job looking off defenders and going through his pass progressions. He does a nice job keeping his eyes downfield when he scrambles, but does an even better job of pinpointing the ball to maximize his receiver’s catch radius. By doing so, he enables his receivers to pick up some serious YAC. Moving forward, Laverty would benefit from a quicker, more compact throwing motion. This will help him deliver strikes to his targets more quickly and into tighter windows when necessary.

Laverty has the frame and, seemingly, intangibles to be a legit college prospect.
