As referenced a few times now, Schipper faced quite the pass-rush on Friday night. One of a variety of reasons Xavier is a top team in 4A, the perennial powerhouse has a crew of violent defensive linemen that like to get after the quarterback. Despite being under constant attack, Schipper never let his head hang and kept his eyes down field, going after his main targets in Bodensteiner and Jayden Stephens Jayden Stephens 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR/DB Waverly-Shell Rock | 2028 State IA when he could get a pass away.

Schipper, aware of the pressure he was facing, would often roll out of the pocket to avoid the pass-rush, but continued to look for open receivers. Not necessarily a dual-threat gunslinger, Schipper showed mobility to avoid defensive linemen as much as he could. He also trusted his receivers to go get it, and when he was able to get a pass off, he put up some decent numbers. He finished the night 12-of-19 for 157 yards and a touchdown.
