Stroup was a major key in the successful run game in Pomona’s win! The 6’5 250-tackle was dominant all game long. Stroup has very good strength with good knee bend, flexibility, and very good balance. Stroup maintains a low pad level and good initial quickness out of his stance. Good hand placement and very good hand strength. Good speed from his 1st to 2nd level blocks. Stroup has very good run blocking. He controls his opponent with ease and creates the lane for his star RB Luis Santana Luis Santana 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB/LB Pomona | 2026 State CO to run through. In pass protection, he has a good anchor and swats the DL’s hands away to create extra time for his QB. Great overall job by the newest 3A champ!

Colby Stoup is a the blindside protector for young Ingersoll. At 6’5 255, Colby has adequate length, and plays with a good base on both sides of the ball. On the offensive side, Stroup shows some light feet in his pass sets and some nastiness in the run game where he is more than willing to run his feet through contact. Defensively, Stroup dominates opposing blockers, locking out at the POA and maintaining a firm base to hold the point, shed, and make tackles. Colby placed 3rd in State in the discus with a 154-01 mark as a JR.

Measuring in at 6’5 250-pounds, Stroup was key in protecting the quarterback and creating running lanes all season long for Pomona. Stroup has very good strength, and it’s shown throughout the film. If he gets beat, he’ll use that strength and pull down the DL/LB shutting them down instantly. He has a low pad level, good knee bend and good footwork. Stroup consistently creates contact first with the defender. Goes into good hand placement and very good hand strength. Controls and steers the defenders away, pushing them 10+ yards downfield to create lanes. Stroup stays with his block even after the whistle, showing his very good competitive toughness. He has a good anchor in pass protection. Shines as a run blocker. He uses his good acceleration and speed to dominate on pull blocks or blocks out in space. Keep an eye out for Stroup this upcoming season.
