Colby plays with a wide base and shows great strength in the trenches. He holds his ground against larger blockers, and plays with great vision to get to the ball carrier. He can track down plays from the backside, and can stuff the run at the point of attack. He also shows an improved pass rush from last season, and shows good movement on stunts. Lots to see with this developing lineman.

At DE, rushes the passer with success. His strength allows him to defeat blocks and get home. His film is impressive as it shows the ability to play multiple positions. Colby Loflin
The scoop: Loflin a rising freshman, saw action on varsity at the defensive end position at Choate Rosemary Hall. A team that earned a NEPSAC #foundersleague championship and a Class A NEPSAC Bowl championship!
The rising freshman surely has the physical measurables to play at the next level standing 6’3″ and 230lbs. He has a huge upside with his obvious aggression and desire to be physical with each rep at such a young age. He should continue to grow and develop in Choate’s program and after all is said and done is projected to be a very good college prospect who should draw college interest as he heads into his sophomore campaign.

Staying in Connecticut, 2027 Athlete Colby Loflin is going to be a prospect to keep an eye on, as he gets set to transition into high school. Lists himself as a 6-foot-2 and 205-pounds with a 77-inch wingspan–all of that checks out to me when watching him. Loflin is intriguing because I don’t think anyone can really say with certainty what position he’ll end up playing. Primarily played Guard and Defensive End during the regular season and was typically biggest, strongest kid on the field. Also handled kicking responsibilities. All that said, he’s playing 7v7 as a Tight End. In watching some of his Tight End training clips, there’s room for improvement in speed and overall fluidity. Looks stiff in his routes. However, there’s no teaching his size and he can already run block quite well. Loflin could turn into a promising next-level prospect with continued development. Stay tuned here.
