Continue ReadingFor the second straight year Colorado is home to an undersized, eighth-grade slot receiver that flat out makes people look silly. Last year, it was class of 2026 Ja’Pree Jennings Ja’Pree Jennings 5’6″ | WR Mountain Vista | 2026 CO that wow’d with his elite quickness and this year it’s Landrum-Hamilton. Now, Landrum-Hamilton isn’t the physical specimen that Jennings is (not many are), but he plays a very similar style. A jitter bug player that can make defenders miss in a phone booth. Also plays Corner on the defensive side of the ball.

West Virginia may not turn out high level prospects as regularly as some of the traditional powerhouse football states, but the prospects are certainly there. Simpkins is shaping up to be one of those prospects to watch for the 2027 class. Plays quick and is getting quicker. Right now somewhere between a Linebacker and a Defensive End. Is off to play next year at Cabell Midland High School in Ona, West Virginia. Ona is in the northwest part of the state, not far from both the Ohio and Kentucky borders.

Have only seen limited clips of Robertson, but it’s not difficult to see there is plenty of upside with the Mississippi native. Lists himself at 6-foot-2 and 250-pound and is likely around there. For being a bigger guy in the 2027 class, has a clean and quick get off. The Oak Grove Middle School prospect violently shoots his hands off the snap and already has already developed several advanced pass rush moves. Played a lot of 0-tech this past season, but still was a factor against the pass.

Sticking with Oak Grove Middle School in Mississippi Offensive Tackle DJ Dotson is also one to know. Man, he certainly looks the part of a future P5 Offensive Lineman. Lists himself at 6-foot-3 and 240-pounds, but that weight check may have been before the buffet line. Dotson sits nicely in his stance despite his big frame and has the capability of collapsing the entire side of the line by himself on down and drive blocs. Pretty good athleticism. Played Left Tackle this past season and also plays basketball. Really impressive run blocker who mauls guys into the ground if he gets his hands on them.
Minnesota is home to promising dual-sport athlete, Darren Nyanyuki. A Wide Receiver on offense, Safety on defense and overall menace as a Returner on special teams, he has to be accounted for on every play. Led his team to a 13-0 season and league championship this year. Lists himself at 6-foot-1 and 150-pounds and looks to be right around there. Really like his length and ability to high-point the ball. Specifically as a Safety, he plays centerfield at a very high level and can go snatch the ball right out of the hands of an unsuspecting receiver. Finished this season with seven interceptions. Unquestionably, one of the top 2027’s I’ve seen in the North Star State.

An athletic righty coming out of West Linn, Smiley is a Quarterback to get familiar with in the PNW. Carson is the younger brother of 2025 prospect Wyatt Smiley Wyatt Smiley 6’4″ | 180 lbs | WR West Linn | 2025 State OR , who is starting to see his recruitment really pick up after earning All-League honors this past season. The 2027 Smiley is listed at 5-foot-10 and 155-pounds right now and is quickly becoming must-watch this 7-on-7 season for Team Lillard up in Oregon. He’s a dual-threat prospect that does a good job of using his legs to threaten, create and keep plays alive downfield. Look for Smiley to join his West Linn teammate, and fellow 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist athlete Josiah Molden in the Oregon All-State Game in June.
Staying in the Pacific Northwest, if there’s a better class of 2027 Linebacker than Liufau Loumoli in Oregon or Washington, I’d like to see him. Loumoli looks every bit the part of a future, can’t-miss P5 prospect. Already standing 6-foot-1 and 195-pounds at just 14-years old, he has the potential to be special. There are certain programs around the country and Ford Sports Performance (FSP) is one of them. Loumoli looks to be one of, if not the, prized prospect out of this FSP 2027 group. It wouldn’t shock me to see him pull an offer before the start of his freshman year of high school. It would shock me, if he wasn’t offered by the end of his freshman fall season.
Going from the Pacific Northwest over to the Northeast, 2027 Connecticut Defensive Back Brady Williams is a prospect that has caught my eye recently. Lists himself at 5-foot-9 and 150-pounds but those measurements seem a little embellished, by my eye. What’s certainly not embellished is his ability to play on an island. He’s as true an Athlete as you’ll find in the Nutmeg State for the class of 2027. Extremely well put together with impressive weight room numbers. Moves very efficiently and deliberately with very little wasted motion. Equally fast and quick. I haven’t seen a better pure corner in New England yet for this 2027 cycle.
Staying in Connecticut, 2027 Athlete Colby Loflin is going to be a prospect to keep an eye on, as he gets set to transition into high school. Lists himself as a 6-foot-2 and 205-pounds with a 77-inch wingspan–all of that checks out to me when watching him. Loflin is intriguing because I don’t think anyone can really say with certainty what position he’ll end up playing. Primarily played Guard and Defensive End during the regular season and was typically biggest, strongest kid on the field. Also handled kicking responsibilities. All that said, he’s playing 7v7 as a Tight End. In watching some of his Tight End training clips, there’s room for improvement in speed and overall fluidity. Looks stiff in his routes. However, there’s no teaching his size and he can already run block quite well. Loflin could turn into a promising next-level prospect with continued development. Stay tuned here.

Every once in a while you throw on one of those films that just have you sitting on the edge of your seat for the next clip. The film of 2027 Missouri Offensive/Defensive Lineman Kyler Kuhn had me completely fired up and I can’t remember the last time I watched a prospect’s entire film. Kuhn is a 6-foot-3, 235-pounds mauler that is also a multiple time Missouri State Champion in Folkstyle and Greco wrestling. The football/wrestler combination is something I absolutely love, as the sports translate very well. I loved watching Kuhn play Defensive Line on his film, but then became enthralled with him playing Offensive Tackle. His drive blocking is mean, merciless and unrelenting. His older brother, Rylan Kuhn Rylan Kuhn 6’2″ | 245 lbs | OL St. Pius X (KC) | 2025 State MO , is a class of 2025 All-State Offensive Lineman and State Champion wrestler for St. Pius X High School. Good luck dealing with Kuhn brothers over the next two years and beyond.
