Martinez Jr. is the definition of athlete. Chris has had a monster year as a running back, totaling well over 1,300 all-purpose yards, he set the Red Oak record for touchdowns in a game with 6 and the most rushing yards in a game with 262 yards earlier this season. He has great vision, he shows patience in the hole that enables him to set up his blocks and when he gets a crease he has the burst to get to the second level quickly. Martinez Jr. runs with great forward lean, he runs with power that allows him to shake off arm tackles and he has the shifty feet to shake defenders in the open field. His reliable hands make a him a threat out of the backfield. Chris stepped in for injured started Reggie Moody Jr. at quarterback vs Centennial and the Red Oak offense didn’t miss a beat. He had a phenomenal game, throwing for 286 yards connecting on 14 of his 21 attempts with 2 touchdowns and Martinez Jr. led the Hawks rushing with 90 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Chris is a plug and play athlete who balls out no matter where he lines up. Whatever college program gets him on campus will be getting a player who steps up and performs in crunch time.
