Currently holds three Division I offers. Simmons is a versatile chess piece on the offense who can line up in the backfield, split out wide, and return kicks. Simmons is a nightmare every time he touches the ball; once he gets out in space, it’s tough to catch him. Simmons has improved his game by keeping his feet going on contact to gain extra yardage. Simmons is much improved at churning out yardage after contact by keeping his legs moving for extra yards.
Returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, showing superb ball tracking and spatial awareness. Simmons showed the vision to see the lanes develop, allowing him to use his explosive speed. Simmons was much improved in yards after contact, while he kept falling forward. Scored another touchdown in the first quarter on offense as a rushing touchdown. Simmons isn’t afraid to block out in space as he pushed the pile for extra yardage and sprung a block for a second-quarter touchdown in the red zone. In the passing game, he’s a crisp route runner who caught the ball with soft hands and gained significant yardage after the catch.
Simmons, who placed fifth in the voting, is an explosive playmaker who can be used as a running back or a receiver. He rushed for 574 yards on 56 carries and scored 18 touchdowns last season, when he helped Catholic Memorial win its second straight Division II championship. Simmons ran for three touchdowns when Catholic Memorial beat Bishop Feehan 41-14 in the 2025 championship game. He currently has scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Connecticut and Boston College.
Evaluation: A typical scat-back who can play in the backfield and line up as a receiver. Simmons is a home run threat when he touches the ball. His elusiveness shows up when he cuts back to beat defenders and sees holes develop with 20/20 vision. Upon contact, he needs to keep his legs churning to fight for extra yardage. An added bonus in his game is that he scans the field effectively in blitz pickup and is topped off by a firm anchor in pass protection. With two more years at Catholic Memorial, expect Simmons to get more carries out of the backfield and maximize his versatility in the passing game when lined up out wide.
Christian had a dominant season showing quick feet, shifty hips and breakaway speed. He can break the first tackle and run away from the rest. He has soft hands and catch from the backfield and also take a handoff all the way to the house. He also contributes on special teams; showing breakaway speed and the ability to break tackles. I beleive another off season improving his strength will take his game to the next level. Surely one of the best in New England and his film continues to support his ranking.
